A loaf emerges!

And close up...

Adventures of a bread baker

Disaster! The local bakery was out of my gluten free bread! And they don't bake again until next Saturday. *Sigh* I guess there is nothing for it but to finally stop procrastinating, pull out the bread-maker B gave me for my birthday 4 months ago and try it. At least the kitchen is tidy enough now that I can set it up without having to move boxes around.

So I write this now to the gentle whir of the mixing blades. And in around 3 hours time thee should be a new loaf of bread in the house. Baking GF bread seems to be very hit-and-miss though, so I have no high hopes of my first loaf. At least I still have an emergency frozen loaf. Strange to think how dependent on bread I've gotten, when I hardly ate it until a year ago.

In other news, the house is coming along nicely. We have busy week of putting up shelves and then a weekend of doing nothing. My weekends have been largely occupied with working or feeling seriously under the weather, so I'm taking a bit of a break and just keeping the house-cleaning under control.

My wrist is still a bit sore - probably using it too much and it just gets fatigued. I still haven't gotten back into knitting since the operation, but I have plans - got a bag or two I want to start, and coming in Winter again a nice scarf or two might be a nice easy way of easing myself back into it.

The big-screen TV we promised ourselves this time last year has finally been bought and was delivered yesterday. Unfortunately the cabinet we bought (separately) for it was not ready yesterday, so all the devices normally attached to the TV are perched wherever they will fit, but I am looking forward to having the downstairs set up properly!

So, now we have a spare tv - anyone interested?

Oh - and no, B still hasn't moved in!
